Self Discovery thru Singing with the Perfectly Imperfects
Regardless of previous experience, skills or abilities…
For the past 12 years, the Perfectly Imperfects have been passionate about creating a safe space to nurture and empower older adults while they gain the confidence needed to explore their desire to sing, move, and act in their own ‘perfectly imperfect’ way. Through the process of building our original theatrical shows that weave story, song and movement, we support each other to be healthy, purposeful, engaged and active. The result is our gift of joyful entertainment as well as connection for and with the larger community.
In this session, we will be drawing from our vast library of songs to create mini shows to perform in and around Calgary. We will present them in our very own Alberta Afternoon format - a simulated live radio broadcast with commercials, songs, movement, and skits. Reading music, dance, acting and/or previous experience is not required – only a willingness to explore the possibilities!
Please note: We do not use sheet music, but instead, we use lyric sheets and audio tracks to learn the songs.
Dates: Mondays, April 1 - June 24, 2024 (no class on May 20th)
Time: 11:00 - 12:30
Place: Dalhousie Community Association in the Conference Room
Cost: $150.00* for Twelve 1.5 hour Classes
