Kind words.

My participation in the “Open Your Voice, Heal Your Heart” class has been a positive and enriching experience. As an asthmatic, I have found the breathing exercises to be an invaluable aid in all my singing endeavours. The opportunities to sing alone and in small groups, all within a supportive environment, have resulted in increased confidence in every area of my life.

I have attended Alison's classes "Open Your Voice, Heal Your Heart" for several years. I have always wanted to sing but had no confidence in my ability.  Alison's encouragement, enthusiasm, help and gradual challenging you to do more than you thought you could do, has helped me a great deal.  Singing in our group has become more enjoyable.

I have been singing with Alison since she started at Confederation Park.  I feel I have learned so much from her. I was absolutely petrified to sing a solo when I first started and never believed I would ever do it.  I have now sung several solos and enjoy doing them.   The breathing techniques we have learned from her are amazing.  She will always challenge us in the very nicest way to achieve our potential.  I still have a long way to go, but I look forward to singing every week.  The relaxation techniques I have learned from her, help in my daily life as well.

“Open Your Voice, Heal your Heart” ...where to start? “Widen Your World” could easily be added to the title of this course. I have been taking part in this journey, three sessions a year, pretty much since its inception.  I think that in itself is testimony to Alison and her course. There is no better way of staying in the present than getting out of your head and returning to your physical senses. Alison has taught us through dance, breathing, awareness and exercises to be in our bodies, to search for and hopefully dissolve the blockages of the past that are inhibiting us in song as well as in life.

Throughout this journey Alison has gently guided us, molded us into a strong, supportive yet tender group of dear friends. Learning to sing is just the bonus. Thank you, Alison....
